One of the most ancient forms of dance, Bharatnatyam, originally started in Southern India. Bharatnatyam has three distinct factors that make it what is today- Nritta, Nritya, and Natya. Nritta is very pure dance movements that incorporate intricate footwork.
Nritya means moving with the rhythm of the beat and including facial expressions as the dance goes on. Lastly, Natya means expressing a story very dramatically that it draws the audience into each and every move and dance step that is performed. The final result is a very energetic, vigorous art form that combines both technique as well as emotion. Mastery of Bharatnatyam takes many years of dynamic training, hard work, dedication, and of course, the energy to dance to the best ability of training.
